Even though there are no real shortcuts, there are a couple of practical methods that you can use to learn beginner guitar chords, starting today.

Lets presume that you have a chart of chords and that you currently have a comprehension of how to play the guitar, read a diagram and position your fingers on the fretboard and strings effectively. Your subsequent step would not be to try to master every chord that is on the chart right away.

Now that you fully feel comfortable with your first chord = "A", try going through the same procedure for the following one. Practice switching between chords in a similar style. Put your fingers for "A" and lift and replace your fingers for "D", and back to "A". Repeating this several times. After that you can add "E" to the mix. Start out with the A, to the D to the E and continue looping this pattern or progression.

Don't get frustrated if your not improving as quickly as you expect. Gradually with time and practice you will be strumming and have the ability to switch between chords easily.
